Student Life: Library Support

Library Support

Our library values access, inquiry, literacy, collaboration, privacy, and equity. We support staff and students by connecting them with high-quality resources and instruction to enhance their learning.

We provide the following services to support learning:

  • Instruction - Students learn how to responsibly use and evaluate resources, information, and technology tools.
  • Access to resources - Students check out library books or access digital resources that meet their academic needs or help them explore their interests.
  • Reader’s Advisory - Get suggestions for which book to read next, or which resources to use for a project.

Media Center Mission

Every library is an extension of the community around it.  The VMCCA Media Center was created with that in mind. Physically, the space is open, inviting, & comfortable, so as to welcome staff & students, alike.  The collection foundation supports academic success and continues to be built around the student choice & relevance of materials.  Areas around the Media Center are mobile, making it functional on multiple levels, with the ability to adapt to the needs of those utilizing the space.
